Before the big day!

Time does fly…

I am truly blessed with amazing clients to know and then to capture where they are in this time of their story when we meet…for the first, the second, or the umpteenth time.

Joy in what is next …

It has been many years since I have seen Mia.  The last time she was a little girl just barely two.  It was a wonderful surprise to be asked to photograph her, now all grown, just as she is about to enter her senior year.  Mia is still tiny and just as energetic as I remembered her from so long ago.  There are many things she loves but two that rank very high: her cheering and her puppies.  Thank you, Mia, for the time we spent together… for your laughter, quick smiles, and the joy to see you again as you are ready for the next adventure life brings.

Can you spell HAPPY?

When Arlene called me to ask about family portraits, there was a sweetness in her voice describing her children.  When we met for photography, and they all came tumbling out of their SUV, I could see why.  There was a wonderful bond they had, a happiness that comes in a family where all are well loved.  Glad to share their joy in these photos!

Start of Summer

How do you mark the start of summer?  Not the day on the calendar which states that the summer solstice has arrived… but that day that says to you as you walk through it. “Ahhh – summer has arrived.”  Some of the sights, smells and sounds that say summer to me:  Hot pavement steaming after a rain, the sound of grass being cut, and the lingering smell, waking up to the sun streaming in the windows…

The Joy of Spring

Spring has hit Atlanta! The daffodils and crocuses are blooming and are a promise of what we have been hoping for – warmer weather and the beauty of the blooming time in our city. After collecting flowers for inside the house, what to do on this first afternoon of daylight savings time where there is an extra hour of warm sunshine?

Journey in life together

There is always joy at a wedding.  The hope of what is starting that day – a journey in life together.  There was greater joy for me at this wedding because I have known the bride, Jess, for 7 years.  We met when I was talking to a couple about wedding photography.  Jess was there to help her friend choose a photographer.   A big surprise came the next day when Jess walked into my studio answering an ad for an assistant position.  Little did I know how amazingly talented Jess is with her creative abilities and how long we would remain partners in photography.
